“Rude Neighbors” Refused to “Hang Out” with Intoxicated Man

SPRING HILL – I’m sure most of us have had those days, when you’re just looking for a friend to hang out with but they’re too busy, or maybe it’s 3:00 a.m. – you’re intoxicated, and no one will answer the door? Well, maybe not for “most” of us, but for 24-year-old Jesse Lee Michael Hartman, when he says it’s time to party, he won’t take no for an answer.

According to a HCSO report, Hartman, who lives at Paul’s Upscale Apartments on Portillo Road, began banging on the door of a neighbor’s apartment, just after 3:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. The tenant, Manuel Collazo, finally answered the door and that’s when Hartman shoved Collazo and entered the apartment without consent. Once inside, Collazo punched Hartman, in an attempt to force him out of the apartment, but he charged at Collazo again. Deputies arrived on scene and placed Hartman into custody.

A neighbor witnessed the incident and said Hartman also banged on his window, around the same time. Deputies discovered a trail of blood leading back and forth from the witness’s window and victim’s door, corroborating their story.

During an interview, Hartman told deputies he just wanted to hang out, and did not understand why his neighbors had been so rude to him.

Hartman has been arrested a total of five times for Battery, since 2012, the last time was just this past February, when he was also charged with DUI.

This time Hartman is charged with Burglary with Assault or Battery. He remains behind bars, held on $25,000 bond.

BROOKSVILLE – Yesterday, the Tavares Police Department, out of Lake County, received a tip that two individuals had stolen a car in Brooksville, and were headed back to Lake County. The Tavares Police contacted the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office, with information that led deputies to 6148 Ivy Hill Lane, where the vehicle may have been stolen. Upon arrival, deputies could hear a woman screaming for help from inside the residence. Upon entering the residence, they found 77-year-old Jacklyn Davis lying on the floor, suffering from serious injuries.

Davis told deputies that earlier in the day, a man came to her back door and asked for someone she did not know; when she tried to shut the door, the man forced his way inside and began to assault her.

During the struggle, Davis was knocked to the ground and her attacker began to strangle her. Davis blacked out for an unknown length of time - when regained consciousness, the man was gone. Davis tried to call for help, but the suspect had stolen her phone. Davis was transported to a trauma center, where her condition is unknown at this time.

The Tavares Police were able to locate the suspect, 17-year-old Randy Moses Haripel, and take him into custody. Haripel is charged with Grand Theft Auto, Home Invasion, and Aggravated Battery (65 or Older). Other charges are still pending, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
