BROOKSVILLE – Between April 1861 and May 1865 the Civil War claimed almost as many lives as all other American Wars combined. In all, an estimated 620,000 men and women died as a result of combat, accidents, starvation, and disease.
REGIONAL – According to a 2016 survey conducted by the National Information Officers Association (NIOA), about 50% of law enforcement public information officers (PIOs) say “There are reporters or media outlets I will not allow officers to talk to because of problems with their stories in the past.” Accessing public information has become a virtual cat and mouse game for crime and police reporters, especially with the growing number of online journalists who deliver news faster than most broadcast and print outlets – like Real News Real Fast.

It’s nearly impossible for a parent or school staff member to have eyes on a child every second of the day, which is why strict policies and procedures are so important for schools to utilize when a child is picked up from school.
REGIONAL – Several Florida Counties have come under fire in the last few years, due to a quasi-government organization’s assertion that they were considered sanctuary jurisdictions. Sheriff’s in most counties vehemently denied the accusation and they were eventually removed from the organization’s list.
