HERNANDO – There are new developments in the provocative saga surrounding “former” County Commissioner Nick Nicholson, after a judge accepted Nicholson’s plea of no contest on misdemeanor prostitution charges.

HERNANDO – The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office and Department of Agriculture conducted a county-wide sweep of all gas stations recently, in an effort to locate skimmer devices on fuel pumps.

LAND O’ LAKES – At least 8-people are reported injured, including one child, after a major crash occurred at the intersection of SR-52 and Hayes Road.

DUNNELLON – A 5-day old infant died Sunday morning after the family Pit Bull mauled the child to death inside her crib.

UPDATE: 11/14/2018, 6:35 P.M. – The following statement has been released by officials:

On 11-13-18 at approximately 2 p.m., Hernando County Sheriff deputies responded to 10021 Hayes Street in Spring Hill in reference to a reported Home Invasion.
There were two individuals inside the home during the incident.
Witnesses said four masked individuals entered the residence through the back.
Following a short confrontation inside the house, the four suspects retreated out the back of the residence and fled the area in a vehicle heading south.
No one was injured during the incident.
The investigation remains active. Anyone with information about the Home Invasion is asked to call the Hernando County Sheriff Office at 352-754-6830.

SPRING HILL – Several Sheriff’s Deputies and Detectives are investigating a possible home invasion that occurred at a residence on Hayes Street, earlier this afternoon.

SPRING HILL – Residents in the area of Weeki Wachee Woodlands were issued a boil water alert last week that affected nearly 500 homes and some businesses.
