6-Year-Old Girl Survives Deadly Late Night Crash

BROOKSVILLE – A 6-year-old girl suffered only minor injuries, in a horrific crash on Soult Road last night, but sadly, the child’s mother wasn’t so lucky.

Just before 11:00 pm, 26-Year-old Amanda Megan Erin Rimes, of Venice Florida, was traveling northbound on Mondon Hill Road, when she drove onto the east shoulder and reemerged on Soult Road. The Ford Explorer Rimes was driving struck two trees, causing fatal injuries – she died at the scene.

The little girl was transported to Bayfront Health Brooksville, where here condition is unknown at this time.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor according to officials.
