A Man’s “Wandering Eyes” Leads to Vicious Piggy Bank Attack
SPRING HILL – A Spring Hill woman faces an Aggravated Battery charge, after a domestic dispute led to her “Breaking the Bank” over her husband’s head.
According to reports, on Sunday, January 10th, deputies responded to 13143 Drysdale Street, after reports of a domestic battery between husband and wife. Upon their arrival, deputies made contact with the victim, John Derbyshire, who stated that his wife, Denise Derbyshire accused him of having “wandering eyes” and then pushed him to the ground. While on the ground, Denise retrieved a porcelain piggy bank and smashed it over her husband’s head.
Deputies responded to the couple’s home address, located at 3309 Landover Blvd, where they made contact with Denise. During an interview, Denise stated “I’m stupid; I struck my husband over the head with a child’s bank.” At that time, Denise handed deputies a plastic bag with multiple pieces of the bank inside. Denise explained that she was afraid her husband was going to leave her and that he never touched her during the dispute.
Denise Derbyshire was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Battery. She is currently free on $250.00 bond.
