Arrests Made in Several Vehicle and Residential Burglaries
HERNANDO – Over the last few months, there have been dozens of vehicle and home burglaries occurring throughout the county. In many cases the suspect or suspects flee the area before law enforcement arrives, leaving victims angry and frustrated. However, over the last few days, investigators with the Brooksville Police Department and Hernando County Sheriff’s Office have made a few arrests.
On October 12th, Brooksville Police made contact with a male Juvenile suspect (We are withholding his identity) after a rash of vehicle burglaries occurred between August 12th and September 6th of this year.
During the burglaries, the suspect stole GPS devices, spare keys, wallets, purses, sunglasses, jewelry, and cash. During the investigation and search of the suspect’s home, a large amount of the stolen items were located and subsequently returned back to their rightful owners.
The suspect is charged with 5 counts of vehicle burglaries.
Several viewers have asked about a suspect arrested by Sheriff’s Deputies Tuesday – charged with over two dozen burglaries and held on approximately $65,000 bond, according to jail records.
According to booking information provided by the HCSO jail website, 18-year-old Aadil Amin Bouarfa is charged with 24 counts of burglary, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest.
