SPRING HILL – Around 7:30 p.m. Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched an address on Hawthorne Road, after reports of a physical disturbance between two men. Prior to their arrival, one of the men fled the scene in a green compact car. While en route to the battery, deputies received reports of a two vehicle accident on Spring Hill Drive which injured one person and damaged a residence. Before arriving on scene, deputies received information that one of the occupants was their fleeing battery suspect, 32-year-old Sean Patrick Douglass.
According to two witnesses, the female driver of the vehicle sped past them at a high rate of speed and struck a home located at 11499 Spring Hill Drive. Those same witnesses say a verbal altercation ensued between the home’s occupants and those inside the vehicle and that someone pointed a firearm at Douglass during the altercation.
The unidentified driver of the vehicle was transported to a local hospital, where her condition is unknown. Douglas was taken into custody and transported to the Hernando County Jail.
Douglass is charged with one count of battery but additional charges may be forthcoming, according to our sources. He is currently held without bond.
