BROOKSVILLE – The embattled Commissioner Nick Nicholson’s problems continue to mount, after the remaining Board of County Commissioners unanimously voted to nominate Commissioner John Allocco as Vice Chairman and Commissioner Wayne Dukes as Second Vice Chairman. They urged Nicholson, who was not present at today’s meeting, to step down from the board or face possible removal by Gov. Rick Scott.

HOMOSASSA – A suspicious package left outside a Post Office this morning caused quite a scare, until a bomb squad discovered what was inside.

SPRING HILL – Another scare at a local K-8 yesterday, after a unauthorized man gained entry into the school without being noticed.

UPDATE: 5:00 P.M. – Officials have confirmed that one person was arrested for prostitution and a few code violations were issued.

HUDSON – Pasco County Sheriff’s Deputies raided several Gentlemen Clubs throughout the area on Friday, but officials say it had nothing to do with Thursday’s arrest of Hernando County Commissioner Nick Nicholson.

TRINITY – Another unusual death investigation is underway into why a man was struck and killed on Trinity Blvd, early this morning.

HERNANDO – A Lee County Sheriff’s Office Sargent is doing his part to help families of fallen law enforcement officers, by running a near 400-mile trek along Florida’s west coast to Tallahassee.

DADE CITY –  One week after a man was struck and killed while lying in a Citrus County roadway, a Zephyrhills man lost his life after witnesses say he was lying on Blanton Road, just before being struck by at least one vehicle.

SPRING HILL – A transient caught shoplifting at a Spring Hill CVS Drug Store is behind bars this evening, after allegedly stealing several items and offering sex in exchange to “stay out of jail.”

SPRING HILL – High-speed pursuits by law enforcement officers happen every day across the country, but not every agency will risk innocent lives by pursuing criminals unless it is absolutely necessary, while others may pursue for almost any reason.

UPDATE: 4/20/2018, 7:30 P.M. – Sadly, officials are reporting that the child has passed away. The investigation continues.

NEW PORT RICHEY – For the fifth time is less than two months a toddler has fallen victim to drowning after wandering away from a parent or guardian.
