Bomb Threats Continue to Waste Resources and Create Risk
BROOKSVILLE – Several deputies rushed to Springbrook Hospital this afternoon, after yet another bomb threat was called in to the facility.
Today’s threat makes the fourth in just one month and although no explosive devices are found, valuable resources are wasted and patients are placed at higher risks due to evacuations.
When a bomb threat is reported, deputies and fire rescue must respond emergency to the location. That means lights, sirens, and high speeds; which places the first responders and the public at higher risk of injury.
We asked the Sheriff’s Office to explain what steps are being taken to find the person responsible for making these false reports and if any other agencies are assisting with the investigation. We’ll update this story once we receive their response.
