Brazen Daytime Shooting Injures One, Two of Three Suspects Still at Large
HOLIDAY (PASCO) – Chaos erupted in the Buena Vista subdivision Wednesday, after a man was shot in broad daylight while attempting to flee from three suspects.
According to officials, deputies responded to 2015 Pleasure Drive just before noon, where they located a male victim, Taylor Cope, with a single gunshot wound. Officials say Cope and a second victim, Molly Hall, were pulling a vehicle between 2011 and 2015 Pleasure Drive when Cope observed two men running towards his vehicle. Cope told Hall to drive away, but in doing so, they struck a parked van and the suspect’s vehicle, a silver SUV. While the victims were trying to leave, one of the suspects, 20-year-old Robert Scott Emery fired two shots into the vehicle, striking Cope in the shoulder.
Attempts to locate the suspects were unsuccessful but Emery later turned himself into the Sheriff’s Office and is charged with 3-counts of attempted murder and shooting into an occupied vehicle.
Investigators are still searching for a white male and a black or Hispanic male who were involved in the shooting. Both men are believed to be armed and dangerous. Officials have not released a description of either suspect at this time.
The victims say they do not know the suspects and the motive behind the shooting remains unknown.
