BREAKING: Armed Bank Robbery Leads to High-Speed Pursuit, Crash Injures One
UPDATE: 1:13 P.M. – Sheriff Al Nienhuis stated during a Facebook Live video this afternoon, “…two individuals attempted to rob this bank – it somewhat violent but I am happy to report that there are no injuries here at the bank.”. Neinhuis also eluded to the fact that two vehicles may have been involved in the pursuit.
One suspect is in custody and a second remains at large.
No further details have been provided by officials.
SPRING HILL – Investigators in Hernando and Pasco Counties are searching for at least one suspect in an armed robbery that occurred at the Wells Fargo Bank on Commercial Way, earlier this morning.
There are unconfirmed reports that two black males, armed with small caliber handguns robbed the bank of an unknown amount of cash and fled southbound on Commercial Way. Sources tell RNRF that a high-speed pursuit ensued into Pasco County, at speeds in excess of 100 mph, until the suspects crashed their white Hyundai Elantra into two vehicles, in front of the Dunkin Donuts near Little Road.
Sources say one suspect may have been taken into custody and a second is still at large, and may be armed.
At least one person was taken by ambulance from the scene of the crash but their injuries are unknown at this time.
