BREAKING: Armed Woman Shot by Police During Standoff, Victim Airlifted to Trauma Center
BROOKSVILLE – A near two-hour standoff came to a violent end just moments ago, after a woman was shot several times by law enforcement officers at a residence on Cedar Drive.
Prior to the shooting, sources say Brooksville Police and Sheriff’s Deputies tried tirelessly to negotiate a peaceful surrender with the woman who continually threatened officers with a shotgun. Around 3:20 p.m., the armed woman stepped out of her residence with a shotgun in hand and was shot multiple times.
The victim has been airlifted to a trauma center for treatment but her condition is unknown at this time.
The victim is believed to be a woman in her 50’s but that information has not been confirmed.
RNRF captured the shooting on video and will post portions of the tragic event later this evening.
We are waiting on a statement from officials to verify what led to the woman arming herself and threatening law enforcement.
