BREAKING: Deputies Forced to Shoot Armed Suspect During Standoff (Warning Graphic Images)

SPRING HILL – Numerous Deputies responded to Braemere Drive inside Arborglades Subdivision this evening, after reports of a possible weapons disturbance.

There are unconfirmed reports that a woman’s throat was cut by her husband during an altercation, and that a child witnessed the incident and reported it to authorities.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered a woman and child outside the home, and a man, presumably the woman’s husband, barricaded inside the home.

It was soon revealed that the man was armed with a rifle and refused to exit, despite numerous commands.

Suddenly, a single shot rang out, raising concerns of a possible suicide attempt.

Within minutes deputies began yelling towards the home, stating “show your hands! Show your hands!” The man refused and re-entered the home.

Without warning, deputies began firing numerous rounds towards the front door of the home, striking the suspect several times.

Bayflite responded to the scene and transported the wounded suspect to Bayonet Point Hospital for treatment. His condition is unknown at this time.

The woman did receive a superficial wound to the throat, but she did not appear to be seriously injured.

UPDATE: Officials say the injuries do not appear to be life-threatening at this time time.

  • A “GRAPHIC” warning? Where? Why???? A white spot?
Is there a problem with preschool children and extremely sensitive sheltered from the world delicate types logging on to your site? What is it with all the unnecessary massive white spots covering nothing then a warning? It’s redundant. I think the mangled motorcycles, children’s bikes crushed under cars and horrible accidents scattered across 2 lanes of road you post are more unsettling than a burry foot or a long distant blurry shot of a small red stain. Get a grip.

But, to the people who gave doubt as to the responding police officers, when someone has a gun and it’s your job to protect the people, then you walk up and talk. Otherwise shut your candy pie hole. You know nothing so say nothing
