BROOKSVILLE - A search is underway for a suspect who fired shots at a Hernando County Sheriff’s Deputy in the area of Twigg Street and Martin Luther King Blvd.
According to our sources a short vehicle pursuit ended on Twigg Street where Deputies located and detained two suspects. A third suspect fled on foot and is still at large.
When the Deputy checked the trunk of his patrol car he located at least two bullet holes.

I listened to this live tonight. Shooting goes on here every day. Why is it the police only care when it’s them getting shot at. If a person calls 911 you will get the run around and it becomes clear they don’t want to be bothered.

Yes thats the truth…. they are quick to run to a deputy but if its one of us its a different story so agree… i was just in that area when it happen… they were all at the store and cops down every road and still out…. but i agree it does happen alot but dont respond quick

Yeah in that garbage area there are shootings eveyday, after awhile (idk 20 years) NOBODY CARES huh ? Those people need to police themselves before the police do anything.
I heard/saw the search going on so I put the dogs in the yard and grabbed my 9mm. I’m sick of the thugs around here. I hope the police catch up to this guy.
The police have families and put their lives on the line everyday to protect the citizens. Any person who shoots at police office is a danger to the entire community. It is not just themselves they are worried about, but the community as a whole (even you Doug).
This is what our society has come to . It is sad. All of this BLM ect crap has to stop! We’re all human and created by one GOD. Blue lives matter! We are people with family to go home to. We are not paid well for what we do and put ourselves at risk. We leave our families ,put on a uniform with a possibly of not returning home. How about some support, respect, and honor.

why do people that are decent move into this area? When we moved here decades ago the real estate agent said go no where near this area its dangerous. Im sure there are some good people in it but move. I lived in a rough area in chicago and left everything behind to get away. BPD and HCSO cant be every where and do everything they need to. Theres too much political correctness hug a thug mentality in our modern society these days. The parents sue and deplete resources and funds of these departments even if the officers are cleared these days its expensive and time consuming. No ones precious family can be criminal, so many people enable these criminals. Look at other cities where career criminals get hurt then the community riots and loots and burns its own towns to the ground. Ive watched so many people in the last few years just drive away from a traffic stop and bc of a no pursuit policy in this county they get away. Its sad and terrible. These self entitled criminals just shoot freely at officers and think nothing of it. I 100 percent support our men and women in uniform. The reason we care so much when there is a shooting bc if the criminal will shoot at officers, they wont think twice about executed your family just because.. These are the most dangerous people in our society. I wish they would bring back chain gangs, bird cages, and public shackles. Watch crime drop, but no we give these criminals better treatment than most of the citizens that are victimized get, from free health and medical to free food to free shelter etc. Our justice system is broken.
