BREAKING: Structure Fully Engulfed, Other Homes in Danger as Large Brush Fire Continues to Spread

BROOKSVILLE – At least one structure on Pomp Parkway is fully engulfed, after a 300-plus acre brush fire continues to burn in the Royal Highlands neighborhood, according to officials.

Firefighters are struggling to protect residences on Flagstaff Drive, Sanders Ave, and several other roadways throughout the heavily wooded area.

Citrus County Fire Rescue and the Division of Forestry are assisting.

BROOKSVILLE – Firefighters are battling a large, fast moving brush fire in the area of Thrasher and Penn State Road.

There are unconfirmed reports that firefighters are attempting to protect at least one structure, as the fire continues to spread.

Firefighters estimate the blaze to be 200 to 300 acres in size at this time.

  • You ever read a pack of cigarettes? On the side by the barcode it has big letters FSC which means fire safe cigarettes!!! it’s the new paper that smells so bad when you smoke them ! The cigarette goes out by its self. So Its highly unlikely a cigarette caused it.
