BREAKING: Suspect Dies in Officer Involved Shooting, Second Shooting in Less Than a Week
UPDATE: 5:50 P.M. – According to a spokesperson for the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies and the the U.S. Marshals were attempting to serve a warrant on a suspect who allegedly committed a sexual battery on a juvenile, when shots were exchanged between the suspect and deputies. It is unknown if U.S. Marshals were involved in the shooting.
The suspect’s identity has not yet been released.
BROOKSVILLE – For the second time in less than a week, Hernando County Sheriff’s Deputies have reportedly been involved in a fatal officer-involved shooting.
There aren’t many details at this time but according to sources, Deputies tried to stop a suspect in the area of Trillium Blvd and County Line Road when shots rang out.
Sheriff Al Nienhuis is on scene at this time.
