Brush Fire Destroys Four Structures and Damages a Fifth, One Injury Reported

BROOKSVILLE – Firefighters are on the scene of brush fire that has destroyed several structures and injured at least one person.

According to officials, firefighters responded to the area of 13133 Crowell Road this afternoon, where a brush fire damaged one vacant home and destroyed four detached structures on two neighboring properties.

The Division of Forestry assisted several units with Hernando County Fire Rescue in bringing the fire under control.

One resident was transported to a local hospital after suffering possible smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

  • Probably just burning stuff off to prevent it from catching on fire, like the idiots did off of 19 across from weeki wachee high school. Must have been awesome for the people with breathing problems. I wish someone with standing would sue the idiots to stop.
