Business Owner Shoots, Kills, Robbery Suspect, 2nd Shooting Investigation Today
PASCO – A suspect in an attempted robbery died this evening, after officials say the owner of a Zephyrhills restaurant shot the suspect in self-defense.
According to preliminary reports, an unknown Hispanic male, 30 to 40 years old, approached the owners of Jordan’s Roadside BBQ on Eiland Blvd in Zephyrhills and demanded money. The owner’s father noticed what appeared to be a weapon in the man’s pants. The suspect became more aggressive and demanded that the owners hand over the money. That’s when the owner produced a handgun and opened fire on the suspect.
Officials say the suspect was transported to a hospital where he later died.
Deputies discovered a 6-8 inch spike in the suspect’s pocket during a search.
At this time officials believe the shooting was in self-defense and no charges have been filed.
This is the second shooting Pasco County shooting in less than 24-hours.

Officials remain tight lipped but neighbors say they saw masked law enforcement officers pulling dozens of large marijuana plants from the residence this evening.
Another source tells RNRF that “It sounded like a war zone. Someone had to have been shot.”
