Close Encounter with Alligator Startles Local Photographer

SPRING HILL – A local photographer got the scare of his life this morning, after stopping to take pictures of alligators and Sand Hill Cranes, as he does almost every day.

Tony Fruciano says he was walking near a fenced-in retention pond at the intersection of Osowaw Blvd and Commercial Way, when without warning, an alligator jumped against the fence where he was standing. Fruciano contacted the Sheriff’s Office and with the assistance of Animal Services, they were able to capture the alligator and safely relocate him from the area.

Fruciano provided RNRF with these amazing images of today’s capture.
