Controversial “Muslim Free” Gun Store Burglarized, Some Question Surveillance Video
INVERNESS (CITRUS) – The controversial gun store owner who made headlines for declaring his business a “Muslim Free Zone” is back in the news again, after several guns were stolen from his business during a burglary Tuesday morning.
Florida Gun Supply owner Andy Hallinan captured surveillance video of what he says are images of two burglars breaking into his store and stealing several firearms.
Hallinan says around 3:30 a.m. burglars stole 14 firearms, including handguns and long rifles, that were unsecured throughout the store. Hallinan says “99% of the time I keep my firearms locked up and put away.”
Hallinan claims ADP failed to notify the Sheriff’s Office of the break-in but that he did receive a text message of the breach. The Sheriff’s Office confirmed that an investigation is underway but would not elaborate on the details.
Immediately after the burglary, Hallinan posted the surveillance video to social media and included an offer to win a firearm. Some Facebook commenters questioned Hallinan for using his misfortune to promote a gimmick. Anita Stover said “Is this a gimmick to get you to register to win the Glock 22?” Hallinan replied (sarcastically) “Yes. We hired people to rob our gun store to get your attention.” Hallinan later posted “I knew this video would get a lot of shares. Why not show people we won’t back down or be afraid?”
Hallinan is an advocate for protecting the Second Amendment and has produced videos and organized rallies to support gun owner rights.
