Crash Injures Two, One Critically, Spring Hill Man Behind Bars
LAND O’ LAKES (PASCO) – A Spring Hill man is behind bars this morning, charged with driving under the influence, after causing a crash on U.S. 41 that left two people injured.
Officials say just before 6:00 p.m. yesterday, 26-year-old Kasey Moreno was driving his 2005 Nissan northbound on U.S. 41 when he failed to observe a 2006 Nissan slowing down to turn into a parking lot. As a result, Moreno collided with the rear of the vehicle, causing it to propel forward into a third vehicle – a 2015 Nissan.
24-year-old Marr’lon Bran’ddon Green of Tampa sustained critical injuries and was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital for treatment. 41-Year-old Sarah Taylor of Lutz sustained minor injuries and was also transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital. A female passenger in Moreno’s vehicle, 32-year-old Audrey Scelzo was not injured.
During the investigation, it was determined that Moreno was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. Moreno faces charges of DUI, DUI with Injury, and two counts of Reckless Driving. Moreno was transported to the Pasco County Jail, where he remains behind bars on a $13,000 bond.
Moreno was just released from jail in October on charges of Burglary, Battery, and Assault.
