DEVELOPING: Man Hospitalized after Early Morning Stabbing
UPDATE: 2/18/2016, 10:07 A.M. – The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office has released the following statement, regarding this morning’s stabbing on Pond Circle.
The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a Stabbing in the 7400 block of Pond Circle in Spring Hill.
Patrol deputies were dispatched to a traffic crash in the area of Pinehurst Drive and Pond Circle at approximately 3:30 a.m. Upon arrival, deputies located an abandoned (crashed) vehicle.
Further investigation led deputies to an individual inside another vehicle who was the victim of a stabbing. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and requested Hernando County Fire/Rescue to provide medical assistance to the victim.
The victim was transported to a local trauma center with non-life threatening injuries.
Detectives and crime scene technicians are awaiting the arrival of a search warrant to search a possible crime scene at 7479 Pond Circle in Spring Hill.
Detectives are actively searching for the suspect at this time.
SPRING HILL – Detectives with the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office are currently investigating an early morning stabbing that occurred on Pond Circle. Officials have not released a statement at this time; however, there are unconfirmed reports that a male victim was stabbed sometime before 4:00 am this morning.
There are currently two crimes scenes established on Pond Circle; one at the southeast curve between two wooded areas, and another inside a residence at the 7400 block of Pond Circle.
A crime scene technician was seen photographing what appeared to be a large trail of blood on the roadway, near a precariously parked pickup truck.
The victim’s current condition is unknown and there is no word on a possible suspect or motive at this time.
