Doctor Charged with Domestic Battery, After Grabbing Cell Phone
WEEKI WACHEE – On Saturday, deputies were called to a residence on Lake in the Woods Drive, after a woman called 911, claiming that her husband had attacked her.
According to officials, an argument ensued between the victim, Marsha Baker, and her husband, Dr. John Baker, a local Podiatrist, over John’s 14-year-old son. Marsha says she did not want her stepson to visit their home, because a few months prior, he allegedly tried to get in the shower with her.
The couple’s bickering intensified, when they tried to decide who was going to text their daughter and tell her not to bring his son. Marsha says that’s when John grabbed her wrists, in an aggressive manner, took her cell phone and then pushed her backwards. Marsha received a scratch on her wrist, where her watch was positioned, but suffered no serious injuries.
During an interview with deputies, John admitted to grabbing his wife’s cell phone, but denied injuring her wrists.
Dr. Baker was taken into custody and charged with Domestic Battery – he is currently free on $25.00 bond.
