Drive-by Shooting Frightens Residents, Second Shooting in Two Weeks
SPRING HILL – Shots rang out in a typically quiet neighborhood this evening for the second time in just two weeks.
According to witnesses who live in the area of Bay Drive and Belmont Road, around 4:15 p.m. a beige or tan 4-door sedan drove northbound on Belmont Road and fired at least 6 to 7 shots from an unknown caliber firearm.
Officials would not provide many details, except to say that there were no injuries or damage to property.
Several residents waited patiently behind crime scene tape as forensic technicians photographed and collected evidence from the street.
On July 17th, a juvenile was shot in the arm by an unknown gunman in the area of Bayridge Court, which intersects with Belmont Road at the far north end. It is not known at this time if the shootings are related and there have been no updates from officials on the prior shooting.
We will bring more on this story as it develops.
