Drunk Driver Injured in Rollover Accident – Witness Tried to Stop Her
SPRING HILL – Fire Rescue and Law Enforcement are currently on the scene of a rollover accident on Elgin Blvd, east of Landover Blvd (East). The female driver, and only occupant, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported locally for treatment.
A witness at the scene told RNRF, the incident began at the intersection of Elgin Blvd and Powell Road, in the parking lot of the Shell gas station. According to the witness, the woman was driving erratically in the parking lot and she appeared to be extremely intoxicated. The woman dropped her husband off and left the station, heading west on Elgin Blvd. The witness says “I was about to rip her out of the vehicle before she left.” Hoping to stop the vehicle before the driver caused an accident, the wintess called 911 and began to follow her. Minutes later, the driver drove off the roadway, struck a large utility pole, and rolled into a hedge row.
