Early Morning Wrong Way Crash Injures Two

SPRING HILL – The Florida Highway Patrol is reporting, yet another wrong way crash, that injured two people at the intersection of Commercial Way and Lake in the Woods Blvd.

According to reports, 75-year-old Martha Lester, of Clarksville Tennessee, was traveling northbound on Commercial Way, when she attempted a left-hand turn onto Lake in the Woods Blvd. Officials say Lester became disoriented and began traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of Commercial Way, at the same time that 42-year-old Ann Morton, of Spring Hill, was traveling southbound.  The two vehicles collided, north of the intersection, closing the southbound lanes for over an hour.

Lester was transported to Bayonet Point Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to fully recover. Morton sustained minor injuries and refused medical treatment. Lester was cited for driving on the wrong side of the roadway.
