Elderly Man Convicted of Dealing Heroin Charged with Stealing Christmas Inflatables
BROOKSVILLE – A Spring Hill man is behind bars this evening, and is probably on Santa’s naughty list, after he stole two Christmas Inflatables from a local Walmart.
According to reports, Deputy Lori Desmond responded to the Walmart Supercenter on Cortez Blvd Tuesday, to investigate separate theft cases that occurred on November 16th.
Loss prevention employees told Dep. Desmond that 76-year-old Juan Cruz-Orozco was seen placing the two inflatables in a shopping cart, and then removing the UPC labels before leaving the store. Employees advised that they were familiar with Orozco because of prior incidents.
During an interview with Dep. Desmond, Orozco said he was sorry for stealing the inflatables but that stole them to sell for food money.
Orozco was taken into custody and charged with retail theft.
Dep. Desmond also discovered that Orozco is on probation for sell, manufacture, and deliver of heroin for the next two years.
Orozco remains behind bars without bond.
