Elderly Woman Raped During Home Invasion, Search for Suspect Underway
NEW PORT RICHEY – Sheriff’s Deputies are searching for a home invasion suspect who raped an elderly woman early this morning.
Officials say a 71-year-old woman was checking the residence at 7437 Heather Street, for the homeowner, when she was confronted by a man armed with a handgun.
The suspect proceeded to sexually batter the elderly woman and then fled the residence on foot. The victim’s condition is unknown at this time.
The suspect is described as a Black or Hispanic male, 25 to 35 years of age, approximately 6’ tall, with a thin goatee, a scar on his right forearm, and a tattoo that reads “DORTHA” on his chest.
The suspect stated that his name was “Kevin” before fleeing northbound on Heather Street around 10:00 a.m.
