Emboldened Thief Steals Twice from Same Location in the Same Day
BROOKSVILLE – It’s been said that criminals often return to the scene of the crime, but rarely do they commit another crime at the same location in the same day. Well, that’s exactly what officials say 21-year-old Giovanni Ismael Ramos did yesterday, at the Walmart Super Center on Cortez Blvd.
According to reports, loss prevention employees detained Ramos Tuesday, after he was caught stealing several items valued at just under $80.00. Deputies arrived on the scene and charged Ramos with Retail theft. He was transported to the Hernando County jail and provided a bond amount of $500.
Upon further investigation, deputies reviewed surveillance video from the same Walmart, showing Ramos stealing several other items earlier that day. Deputies met with Ramos at the jail and advised him of the additional retail theft charge that he was now facing. During an interview, Ramos told deputies that he was “depressed” and that’s why he stole the items. Ramos remains behind bars held on a $750 bond, an increase of $250 due to the addition charge.
