FDOT Allots Half Million Dollars for Highway Safety Improvements
HERNANDO – County officials have announced that the Florida Department of Transportation will spend over a half million dollars, to improve warning devices on rural county roadways. The improvements will include new reflective markers, thermoplastic striping, curve warning signs and signals, and updating school zones.
Construction has already begun on the following roads, and will continue over the next several months. Osowaw Blvd, Sunshine Grove Rd, Citrus Way, Fort Dade Ave, Croom Rd, Mondon Hill Rd, Lingle Rd, Lockhart Rd, Powell Rd, and Hayman Rd.
County Commissioner Jim Adkins says “We have some of the most beautiful roads in the state. I support pursuing every opportunity that will cut back on accidents, making safer roadways for our residents and visitors.”
