Firefighters Battling Large Brush Fire in Spring Hill Neighborhood

SPRING HILL – Hernando County Fire Rescue and the Division of Forestry are currently battling an approximate 20-acre brush fire in the area of Stephanie Drive and Greynolds Ave.

Firefighters are attempting to contain the slow-moving fire which is located in a large wooded area.

There does not appear to be any structures in danger at this time, according to sources.

  • Damn unless our current pattern changes I see us in for a very long very dry spring I sure hope Hernando County Fire Department gets busy with a lot more controlled Burns or we may have even more problems, when I moved here in 1988 we would get regular summer rain starting in April now we’re lucky if we see our first thunderstorm until July and boy are they more violent, that whole area sure surrounded by a lot of houses hope they keep it contained
