Fires Continue to Rage Throughout Pasco County, New Hudson Fire Damages Building
UPDATE: 5:12 P.M. – The New York Ave fire has grown to approximately 18 acres. Dozers have establised a line around it the fire and a Helicopter has dropped water. Officials say a shed ,a boat and an 18 wheel trailer has been damaged. Pasco County Fire Rescue is on scene assisting with structure defense.
UPDATE: 3:50 P.M. – Officials now say the Hudson Brush Fire is 6-acres in size. No residential structures are in danger at this time, say officials.
REGIONAL – Brush fires continue to rage throughout Pasco County this afternoon, and RNRF is now receiving dozens of reports of a new fire near New York Ave and Redfish Street in Hudson.
Officials have not released a statement on that specific fire but it appears to be several acres and growing, according to some witnesses.
According to the Florida Forest Services, the 55-acre Campground Fire, located at Starkey Wilderness Preserve, south of State Road 52 and Hays Road is 100% contained.
The 35-acre Silver Palm fire is 25% contained and all residents are asked to remain in their homes and not leave the area. If they do leave, officials say they will not be allowed back into the area until further notice.
There are no containment details regarding the 25-acre Suncoast Bike Trail fire at this time but officials say Starkey Park is closed until further notice.
Pasco County has issued a Burn Ban until further notice.
