Fivay High School Placed on Lockdown After Possible Firearm Situation
UPDATE: 2/2/2017, 9:58 A.M. – The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office has changed their initial report that was provide to us yesterday. They have now provided the following revised report:
SRO Cpl. M. Arroyo, radioed relating Fivay High School, was in a lockdown and needed assistance. Cpl Arroyo advised he had received information that a student may have a firearm on campus. Prior to arrival of units, Cpl Arroyo, advised he had detained several (5) students and located the weapon which was determined to be a BB gun. Once the possible threat was resolved, responding deputies assisted in releasing the school from the lockdown which was accomplished without further incident. Dep. G. Smith stayed on scene and assisted Cpl Arroyo with his investigation. A 9th grade student was charged with the above listed offenses and placed into Youth Diversion. All involved student received school discipline and were released to their parents. There were no injuries and no threats to anyone on campus.
HUDSON (PASCO) – A lockdown at Fivay High School has now been lifted, after reports that a firearm was discovered on campus.
Sources initially reported that the school resource officer had seized a firearm from a student but officials say that is not the case.
According to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, a student was talking about a bebe gun but nothing was found.
Pasco County School Administrators received dozens of calls from concerned parents, after students began texting that they were on lockdown.
