Fuel Spill Forces Evacuation of Gas Station

BROOKSVILLE – A Hazmat Team and cleanup crews are currently assessing damage caused by what is estimated to be a 50 to 60 gallon gasoline spill at a local RaceTrac Gas Station.

Fire Rescue responded to the RaceTrac located at 30480 Cortez Blvd around 6:00 a.m. where they began efforts to contain the spill.

Due to the amount of spilled fuel, the business has been evacuated and the area cordoned to traffic.

Sources say some of the fuel may have leaked into nearby drainage areas but the exact amount is unknown at this time.

There are no injuries reported at this time.
