Full Recovery Expected After Two Children Nearly Drown

WEEKI WACHEE – On Saturday evening, RNRF received reports of two possible near drownings at the 5400 block of Darlene Street, involving two young children (ORIGINAL REPORT).

According to Hernando County Sheriff’s Office Spokesperson, Denise Moloney, the two children injured in the Saturday’s boating accident have been released from the hospital and are not expected to have medical issues from the incident.

Moloney says there have been no reports of the boat being operated in a reckless manner, despite some witness accounts. “…one party in the boat stood up, causing the boat to shift, and the two small children to fall out,” according to Moloney.

  • Yup Molony isn’t to sharp then. The kids had no life jacket on and being on the water most of my life I know kids need to wear a lifejacket when underway. But just another case of the sherrif being lazy.
