Heavy Rains Wreak Havoc on Area Roadways, Storms Expected Throughout the Evening

HERNANDO – Heavy rains throughout Hernando County are causing dangerous driving conditions on area roadways.

At this time Law Enforcement and Paramedics are responding to accidents at Elgin Blvd and St Ives Blvd, Cortez Blvd and Broad Street, Grayton Drive and Linden Drive, and the 6300 block of Pine Ridge Drive.

There are no reports of serious injuries at this time.

Weather officials say there is a 90% chance of rain throughout the evening but conditions should be clearing by tomorrow.

  • OMG People all think the are invincible .. Just got back from PalmHarbor and felt like I was in a pinball machine watching these crazy drivers changing lanes , speeding , tailgating etc. It was raining quite hard and steady … BUT not to slow them down …..No one has ANY road courtesy any more .. SAD. Glad I’m back home safely ….
