  • Boy, Felicia – if your kids are running you around and running the show, well you might be in the wrong business of motherhood.

  • This is why schools are closing, so people who have families in other areas can help prepare. There are many people that live in this are with families down south. Some schools will be used as shelters for out of county people who need help. Therefore they need the time to prep, you can volunteer your time helping if you need something to do with your kids since they wont be in school1

    • Totally unnecessary, bunch of whiney babies. Notveven gonna hit here n schools r off. Yeah that’s smart let kids stay home alone in a rain storm while mom n dad r at work. No one has ever gotten wet? Pretty sad.

  • The Storm is not coming to visit us . . .

    • Don’t know that for sure, to think otherwise is simply foolish even if it does miss our area.

      • Foolish to run out n buy gas, what u gonna do drive around in the storm? Bunch of morons. Not gonna hit us here. These r the same idiots that slow down to 5 mph when a rain drop hits the windshield.

  • Closing the schools to prepare for the storm hitting us on Sunday? So us parents have to prepare to keep our families safe while our kids are running circles around us?!?! I feel like this is unnecessary. Schools should be in session until the weekend. Instead now, our kids are going to be watching us deal with this stress and anxiety.. smh…

    • Feliciah, you make it sound the kids are a problem. You’re questioning the school boards decision to keep your kids safe. So if you’re and I quote “smh” its because you have extra responsibilities. i really hope I am misunderstanding your comment.

      • Safe from what? Getting wet? It’s not gonna hit till weekend, N won’t hit here , so why close schools? No wonder these kids r stupid, look at their leaders

    • Our schools are for your children’s education. They are not a free babysitting service.
      Bye, Felicia

  • Hopefully the County will be using the time to prepare these facilities as shelters BEFORE the storm gets here. There are a LOT of people in the Pasco Hernando area living in mobile homes and flood areas who could potentially be forced to evacuate but do not have the resources to go anywhere but to a shelter. And don’t forget the animals who may also be in harm’s way. If the shelters end up not being needed, then so be it. Better safe than sorry!!

    • Unfortunately, only 1 shelter in Hernando is Pet Friendly. 🙁
