Hidden Fire Prompts Firefighters to Respond Back to the Scene

BROOKSVILLE – Fire nearly destroyed a mobile home inside Brookridge subdivision today, causing extensive damage to structure.

According to officials, fire rescue responded to 9224 Bassin Street just before 1:00 pm, after the homeowner noticed smoke coming from the roof.

Upon arrival, firefighters located the source of the blaze in a storage shed attached to the mobile home and quickly began to extinguish it.

During a thorough search of the interior, crews discovered a hidden fire in the attic space, which prompted the Incident Commander to request crews back to the scene.

There were no injuries associated with the fire but the mobile home is a near complete loss.

The State Fire Marshal is on scene investigating the cause of the fire.
