Illegal ATV Racing Cause of Toddler’s Death
SUMTER – Earlier today, RNRF reported the tragic death of 2-year-old Jakhyrian Ghram, the toddler who was killed last evening, after being struck by an ATV (ORIGINAL REPORT).
Upon further investigation, the Florida Highway Patrol has determined that the fatality was the result of illegal ATV racing in the area.
According to reports, 28-year-old Terry Killings was one of several other individuals racing ATV’s in the area, as dozens of spectators lined the streets. Officials say several bystanders were injured and transported to local hospitals, in addition to the two who were reported injured in our earlier report.
Ghram was in the care of an unidentified person and seated near the edge of the road at the time of the crash.
Officials are still searching for the ATV involved in the crash and a second ATV that may be purple in color.
