Infant Airlifted to Trauma Center, After Hit and Run Propelled the Child into the Air
HOLIDAY – An infant is lucky to be alive today, after a hit and run crash propelled the child out of the mother’s lap and high into the air along Bonita Road, last night.
According to sources, the child’s father was pushing the mother in a wheel chair, when they were struck from behind by an unknown type vehicle.
After the incident, witnesses say the parents had to search for their child, who was eventually located in a row of bushes.
The child was airlifted to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa for treatment, where he is listed in stable condition.
The parents only suffered minor scrapes and bruises during the incident.
The Florida Highway Patrol investigating the crash and there are unconfirmed reports that a suspect has already been identified.
