Interest Free Loans Available for Homeowners Facing Insurance Cancellation

HERNANDO – Good news for homeowners with roofs that are in disrepair, but cannot afford the exorbitant renovation costs. Thanks to the State Housing Incentive Partnership Program, qualified applicants can receive an interest free loan up to $10,000, payable over 20-years.

To qualify for the Emergency Roof Repair Program, applicants must be the primary resident, current on their mortgage and property taxes, and have received a cancellation notice from their homeowner’s insurance company.

In addition, homeowners must meet the following gross income guideline:

  • 1 Person Household – $20,650
  • 2 Person Household – $23,600
  • 3 Person Household – $26,550
  • 4 Person Household – $29,500

  • I called and was told I dont qualify because I dont have homeowners insurance and i can not get home owners insurance because I need a roof.

    • If you want to give us a call – we do have a carrier that will write coverage excluding roof damage until the roof is updated. We can discuss it further with you but you may want to check to see if this would allow you to qualify. They may be looking for people who have a notice that they are being cancelled because of the roof.
