  • If you’re driving a motorcycle aggressively, please, please, please make sure your taillights work. Driving home after dark tonight, a motorcycle swerved in front of me just before traffic light. No taillights. Passed car in front of me, swerved in front of them. Again, he had no taillights. Followed the car in front of them with less than a car space between. I backed way off (50 yards or so), and so did the car in front of me.
I lost sight of the motorcycle, due to his speed and lack of taillights. Several minutes later, he came out of the convenience store where I get my gas. Drove off — fast –before I even got parked. Hope he makes it home okay…

  • I pay more attention when I see a person on a motorcycle than I do in a vehicle, I really do. If they want to buzz around me and the then cut in front of me, I let them have the road. I realize that they have no protection at all, except if they are wearing a helmet. After saying that, I would like to say this. I have noticed lately that some riders are taking a lot of chances when they are riding. Sometimes I wonder if I will see them a mile away laying on the side of the road. I know that people who ride bikes feel that they do not get the respect that they deserve but, let’s face it, they need to be a little more careful too. I am not talking about the man that lost his life in this post, I am generally speaking.

  • The accident was actually about 1/2 mile south of the park. Around 9:25 pm, there were still a lot of sheriff vehicles lining the road.

  • I’ll never understand why motorcyclist think their chance of survival is the same as a car should they be in an accident. Is the freedom of the “open road” worth that much? The risk reward ratio must worth it to some.
