iPhone Tracking App Leads to Arrest of Robbery, Battery Suspect
BROOKSVILLE – Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Forzando Ave early Tuesday morning, to assist Brooksville Police with an investigation into a Robbery and Domestic Battery.
According to reports, Deputies made contact with the 17-year-old female victim who stated that her live-in girlfriend had battered her and stole her iPhone 5S.
The victim says her girlfriend, 20-year-old Shakendra Patrice Brown became angry when the victim refused to hand over her phone. The victim says brown was jealous and believed that she was talking to other women. That’s when Brown grabbed her phone, slapped her across the face and then fled the scene.
With the use of an iPhone tracking software, Deputies were able to located Brown at her residence on School Street. She was taken into custody without incident and the phone returned to the victim.
Brown was booked into the Hernando County Jail and charged with Domestic Battery and Robbery by Sudden Snatching. A record search revealed that Brown also had two outstanding warrants for Burglary and Criminal Mischief. Brown remains behind bars at this time, held without bond.
