Late Night Drive-By Shooting Leads to One Arrest
BROOKSVILLE – A drive-by shooting led to one arrest and a few rattled nerves in the Talisman Estates neighborhood.
According to sources, 50-year-old George Andrews fired several shots from a vehicle into a residence near Talisman Street, late last night. Andrews then drove back to his residence a short distance away at 3210 Tulip Street and went inside.
Several deputies arrived on scene and with the help of the agency’s air unit, they were able to detect a heat signature coming from Andrews vehicle, indicating that it had been recently driven.
Deputies used a bullhorn to gain Andrews’ attention and order him to surrender. Within a few minutes, Andrews stepped out if the residence and was taken into custody.
Andrews was booked into the Hernando County Jail and charged with 4-counts of firing into an occupied dwelling and 1-count of an unoccupied dwelling. He is currently held without bond.
There were no injuries reported despite finding several bullet holes in the residence.
