Man Begs to be Shot by Deputies, Dodges Taser Deployment During Standoff *VIDEO*
SPRING HILL – A tense standoff could have ended tragically this today, after a suicidal man challenged deputies in to shoot him in the front yard of his residence on Plaza Ave.
Around 4:30 p.m. Deputies responded to residence, after what was believed to be a domestic dispute. Upon arrival deputies confronted the irate man in the front yard of the residence, where he made threats and begged to be shot by deputies.
During negotiations, a deputy deployed his taser in an attempt to end the standoff; however, the man dodged the barbs and ran back into his house.
When a K-9 unit arrived on scene, the man began making threats that his two Pit Bulls would kill the Deputy’s partner if he attempted to approach or enter his residence.
Finally, after nearly an hour-long standoff with Deputies, the man walked out with his hands raised and surrendered peacefully.
There are unconfirmed reports that the man was transported for a psychiatric evaluation and is not expected to face charges.
