Man Faces First Degree Murder Charge in Death of his Own Mother
UPDATE: 3:32 P.M. – Officials have confirmed that Nickerson is charged with the murder of his own mother that occurred on September 24th at his residence. According to a statement, “When deputies arrived on scene, they noted the victim, Beverly Nickerson, 74, had numerous injuries on her body. In addition, investigators also noted the circumstances leading up to her death appeared suspicious.”
SPRING HILL – On September 24th, 2016, 74-year-old Beverly Anne Nickerson passed away at her son’s home on Covington Ave. And now her son is charged with first degree murder.
According to officials, 50-year-old Albert Henry Nickerson Jr. of 2344 Covington Ave was arrested last night and charged with First Degree Murder and Abuse of the Elderly.
Nickerson appeared in front of Judge Kristie Ruppe this morning for First Appearance, where she held Nickerson on no bond for homicide and $50,000 on the abuse charge.
Nickerson asked to speak with his wife so that she could hire an attorney for him.
There are unconfirmed reports that Nickerson murdered his mother and then cremated her remains.
There is no information available at this time on the motive or cause of death.
Officials say they expect to provide a statement later today.
Beverly is survived by her other son and daughter, Arthur and Renee.
