Man Flees from Deputies, Crashes into Utility Pole
BROOKSVILLE – Earlier this afternoon, RNRF received information that a man driving a black pickup truck fled from deputies during a traffic stop in the area of Forzando Street and California Street.
A short distance away, at the intersection of Alberta Street and Forzando Street, the driver crashed into a utility pole and ran into a nearby wooded area.
A K-9 unit arrived on the scene and was able to track the suspect to his location, deep inside the woods. The suspect, later identified as 37-year-old William Francis Rogers, was taken into custody without incident and brought back to the scene of the crash.
Rogers was booked into the Hernando County Jail, where he remains behind bars at this time.
We will update Rogers’ charges when they come available.
