Man Jailed After Punching Fiance’ and Slashing Her Tire
SPRING HILL – A couple’ bickering turned violent yesterday, after a man punched his fiancé in the face when she asked him to get out of the car.
According to reports, 28-year-old Ronald Eugene Weldon and his girlfriend were arguing while driving on Deltona Blvd. When she stopped at a traffic light, she asked that he get out of the car. That’s when Weldon punched her in the face and then got out of the car and slashed one of her tires. Weldon fled the area before deputies arrived. A short time later, deputies located Weldon and brought him back to the scene.
During an interview, Weldon admitted to punching his fiancé but denied slashing her tire. Despite the victim’s obvious injuries she declined to provide a written statement to deputies.
Weldon was taken into custody and charged with Domestic Battery and Criminal Mischief.
Suspects arrested for Domestic Battery are held without bond for 24-hours. Welden is eligible to post bond after 4:00 p.m. today.
