Man Kidnapped and Beaten Escapes Captors, Search for Suspects Underway
HUDSON (PASCO) – The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office has released the following statement regarding an early morning kidnapping and beating.
A male victim, whose identity is protected for his safety, was lured to a location in Hudson under the false pretense that a female associate of his was in danger. Once the victim arrived at the location, several subjects to include Joshua Petty, 29, Anthony Batta, 26, and Joseph Alexander, 26, held the victim against his will and battered him with blunt objects, which caused serious injury to the victim’s face. They then bound the victim’s hands and placed tape over his mouth so he could not escape. A fourth subject, Brian Edelman, 30, assisted in holding the victim against his will. These subjects then kidnapped the victim and transported him to a secondary location in NPR where they continued to batter him and hold him against his will. The victim was able to escape and called law enforcement. Victim was treated for his injuries at a local hospital.
Using investigative practices and the assistance of the PSO combined agency SWAT Team, Joshua Petty was located and arrested for an aggravated battery and kidnapping warrant early this morning. The Pasco Sheriff’s Office continues to look for Batta and Alexander, who are wanted for aggravated battery, kidnapping, and conspiracy to kidnap charges. Edelman is wanted for conspiracy to kidnap.
