Man Refuses to Say What Prompted Vehicular Rampage at County Jail – CAPTURED ON VIDEO
BROOKSVILLE – Yesterday we reported an incident at the County Jail, involving a “crazed” man who crashed his car into one of the facility’s flagpoles. ORIGINAL REPORT
According to reports, 31-year-old Michael Lee Roberts drove to the facility last evening and began yelling and causing a disturbance. Sgt. Digitano reported the incident and waited for patrol deputies to arrive on scene. While deputies were en route, Roberts jumped in his vehicle and began crashing into things on the property. After doing donuts on the lawn, Roberts crashed his vehicle into one of the flagpoles.
Sgt. Digitano and Deputy Smith attempted place Roberts into custody but he tensed up and refused to be handcuffed. Eventually, Roberts was taken into custody and escorted to the jail.
Roberts refused to answer deputy’s questions during an interview.
Roberts is charged with Criminal Mischief (Damage over $1,000) and Resisting Arrest without Violence.
He remains behind bars, held on $3,000 bond.
